The Paleo Diet

By now, I'm betting you've heard a lot about the Paleo diet. Paleo is short for Paleolithic and the diet is based on foods presumed to have been available humans in the Paleolithic period ('bout two and a half million years ago). In short, if a caveman didn't eat it, you shouldn't either. This diet features a lot of meat and nuts as well as fruit and vegetables.

For me, this diet is not my first choice, even though it really did do wonders for my weight loss and recovery after I was ill. The problem for me really was the amount of meat required. Before I got sick, I was a vegetarian, so it was difficult for me to make that transition. I was trying to do the Auto Immune Protocol (AIP) diet, but a lot of people also call it Auto Immune Paleo. These days, I tend to pick and choose the aspects of the diet that align for both my health and what I choose to eat.

But, you'll have to try it yourself and see. Again, it's about what works for you. Find tips on eating Paleo below.
